- Remove the plastic component from the section you intend to cut and reinsert it into the modified part of the gate to guarantee the correct fitting of the tension knob.
- This process will become clearer once you have the gate physically available.

- Do not rely on the gate for safety until all procedures are complete and the gate has been tested for stability.

While installing baby gates outdoors can provide a quick and economical solution, it may also void the warranty on these gates.
It is advisable to regard outdoor installations of baby gates as a temporary and cost-effective measure. This may risk voiding your warranty on the gates.

To reduce rust and moisture accumulation, adhere to these recommendations:

- Drill holes at the bottom of the gate using an 8mm steel drill bit. This will allow water to drain and prevent rust from developing inside the hollow gate, where moisture can collect at joints, connectors, and tension knobs. The holes will provide ventilation to mitigate moisture build-up.
- Apply a light coating of Rustoleum Painters Touch 2X Ultra Cover – Satin Clear 340g, available at takealot.com, to the baby gate, extensions, and mounting kit.
- Let it dry completely (approximately 2 hours), then apply a second coat.
For existing rust:

- Spray the affected areas with Rust-Oleum Rust Reformer 291g, according to the product instructions.

- The rust reformer will convert rust to a black colour, which should then be coated with Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Enamel Gloss White 340g, available on takealot.com.
